Welcome to the Transylvania County Parks & Recreation Website!
Transylvania County, North Carolina is the home of endless recreational
opportunities. Over one-third of the county's 379 square miles is
comprised of National and State Forest land. The Blue Ridge
Parkway, the French Broad River and over 250 waterfalls are among
the most popular tourist destinations in the eastern United
States.
The
Transylvania County Parks and Recreation Department offers a number
of recreational opportunities to our 29,000 residents. The
department maintains and operates seven parks in the county and
offers numerous athletic, arts/leisure, and fitness programs
available to people of all ages.

**Brevard
College will be hosting a Summer Soccer Day Camp for boys and
girls ages 5-14 on July 12-15, 2010. Ages 5-7 will meet from
9am-12pm (fee is $75). Ages 8-14 will meet from 9am-3pm.
The camp will be held at the Brevard College Training Center.
Registration forms are available at the Recreation Department.

**Betty
Bessette will be hosting a series of Cooking With Betty
classes this summer. These classes focus on cooking delicious
recipes using seasonal produce. To learn more about these

**The annual
Transylvania Youth Council Vernon Gardner Memorial Golf
Tournament will be held at Glen Cannon Country Club on Friday,
July 30 at 1:30pm. The fee is $65 per person and includes a
hamburger and hot dog supper and prizes. To register, call
Chad at 884-3156.
TAC Gymnasium "Open
Gym"
Each week
open gym time will be posted here. The gym will be available
for public use, free of charge. This will be updated every
